Hi! My name is Jocelyn and I am an aspiring IBCLC.
I am a mom of two little boys who are my inspiration for pursuing a career in lactation. Like many new parents, I was determined to breastfeed, but after experiencing pain with latching and a stressful pediatrician visit where we learned our baby was losing too much weight, I realized I needed help.
I didn’t even know lactation consultants existed outside the hospital. I assumed the 30 minutes of help I received after delivering would be enough to ensure a successful, long-term breastfeeding journey … but boy was I wrong! Thankfully, I connected with an amazing lactation consultant who gave me the guidance, education, and support I needed to have the breastfeeding experience I was dreaming of. I went on to breastfeed my first son for 18 months and my second for almost 2 years.
When my own breastfeeding journey came to an end, I felt a strong desire to support other families in achieving the same joy and confidence I had found. I’m thrilled to be on the path toward becoming a lactation consultant and am excited to gain hands-on experience with Ally to help make that dream a reality.
I live in Springfield, NJ with my kids and my husband. I enjoy reading, travelling, Pilates, and being a foodie.
